Hi everyone!
I've slowly been working on my corner cabinet's display. The problem is, vintage things aren't the only thing I passionately enjoy. I collect lots of vinyl toys and plushies and books and dvds! I had a lot of my plushies in the cabinet but had to move them temporarily to the top of the cabinet as my new little kitten had decided it likes to sleep on the first open shelf of it!
I thought I wasn't going to buy much more in the way of vintage glass pieces, and only buy pieces I loved in order to sell them on etsy... But, alas, I have acquired a few lovely pieces that have really made the top two shelves look lovely! The accumlation of these pieces was slow though, which is the nice way to make a collection I think!
Here are a few pictures!
I got some great deals! Also, my mother can't help herself, she's the one who bought most of it, without my knowing, for me. I have some black glass pieces, which I have more of around the apartment and were bought for my wedding. I keep an eye out for more because it's the one thing I would LOVE to have a great collection of (mostly because I think it's something my husband actually likes!). I have some delphite pieces and some jadite pieces as well in this cabinet! The colors all look so nice together! Especially with the little bit of white from the whiskey and juice canisters. I'm really liking how it is turning out =]

My Wedding
I thought I might share a few pictures of my wedding! These are just some I posted on my more personal blog. I'm at work and don't have access to all of my amazing pictures, so I will share more later!
It was an outdoor wedding in October, and happened to be the only day that month that rained. Not that you can tell from the pictures. So the lovely outdoor set up just sat there staying empty while we moved the arch to under the tent. It was crowded but it worked!

I bought the red velvet rose pin and the white flower in my hair from etsy sellers. I made my bracelet from a vintage brooch and ribbon. It ended up being a complete nuisance!
I had a ton of milk glass vases for my roses! Red and white roses with a small white flower from my parent's yard. All the milk glass was just so lovely! You can also see the menus my husband and I made. Oh, did I mention it was a tea related wedding? Like a high tea.
We found a cake lady who made a DELICIOUS cake. The top was white cake with raspberry and the bottom was chocolate with raspberry. She made it so pretty too. My husband painted Munnys as our cake toppers. In the background you can see a lovely vintage screen and handkerchiefs.
I put lots and lots of ribbons up behind the table where James and I were to sit. My friend from Oregon sent me the picture as a gift and I thought it was just TOO perfect to put up! It matched the cute theme of the wedding wonderfuly.
Where and how the ceremony was originally going to look, before the rain ruined it! The chairs stayed but the arch went under the tent an hour before the ceremony.
My dear friend Kirstin made these lovely flower cupcakes. She even made the wrappers wonderful! She made stickers that were red, white and black with polka-dots that had our names and date on them. So sweet.
It was a backyard wedding at my parent's house. It was pretty small with about 50 people. The colors were red, black and white. My brother had to run out and buy white fairy lights and rain boots. The boots for me to wear and the lights for the inside of the tent, it was dark and gloomy out!
There was a lot of DIY with my wedding. I had a candy buffet where I used some vintage milk glass and black glass, my friend made cupcakes, I had a lot of help making everything. The decorating, the flower arrangements... it was all so much fun really.
Sad news. I found out last week that Reverend Ron, who officiated my wedding and did an absolutely stunning job (he made it special, unique, different and wonderful for us) died suddenly a couple months ago...

Moderntone Platonite Saucers
I found these two saucers at a great antique store. The woman there has thousands of pieces of glass, if I'm in there for more than 5 minutes I start to get a panic attack. I'm scared I touch one thing and everything in the store will break. It's a serious concern every time I go there.
Anyway, she has loads at this store, the only thing is, it's not too close, then again none of my favorite places are. She has really great deals and knows everything about everything.
These two saucers are in such good condition! I love that they look like pottery but are in fact milk glass, you can see when you flip it over. And though they are saucers, they can still be used as small plates or put on display. I can see them used in a pale/pastel theme display, possibly for Easter, would that not be too cute? They would match the frosted tumblers I posted yesterday. Can you tell I'm all about the pastel shades, and Easter time?

Vintage Zombie/Tumbler Glasses
I found these glasses a couple of days ago and fell in love with them immediately. The colors are creamy, soft, and frosted.
I did my best to research these tumblers, but couldn't come up with much. They are probably hand painted, from the 1950s, when this style was recognized. The image depicts a girl in a crinoline skit with an arch, bird bath and birds flying. These glasses are in great condition too, good to use for parties, and also perfect for display. I love how they would go well with all sorts of themes, Easter, spring, pale colors, girly rooms etc.
I put these up on etsy a few moments ago, if you're interested click here.
