Hello Again!

Hi Everyone!

I know I have not been active on Etsy for a long time, and even a longer time on here. I am hoping to change all that, right now!

I have posted five new things on Etsy today (one sold already, though I think the buyer is going to attempt to resell it for three times the price. Still making mistakes and learning!), getting back into the swing of things! It's great, once I started posting again, I remembered why I loved it.

For the past few months I have been quite busy, in some ways at least. I stopped looking for a "real" job and worked on my novel. At 67 thousand words, I finished and sent it to an editor! It is in the process of being heavily edited and on its way to better and brighter things! I am very excited by it all.

Now, I wish to get back into another thing I loved. Etsy. One day, I want to do both consistantly and well. Making a living, perhaps?

To start things off, I would like to show you one of my favorite things I've acquired lately, and have listed today.

It's been a while I know...

And I haven't listed in ages either! I have a plan though! I won't say much but I will say it involves making etsy my new full-time part-time job... does that make sense? Probably not. But, anyway, I'm excited about it!

I've started working on my novel again! That's something I am really excited about right now.

Anyway, here is what I've just listed today! I am going to try and list something every day this week, really try and get back into the habit of listing and being a part of etsy.

Recent & Exciting Finds

I went up north with my family earlier this week to a town called Lewiston. While there was nothing around for miles, I did manage to find an antique store that I didn't expect much from. I went with my Mom, two aunts and my grandma (who is almost 85 and quite a trip!). This store was much larger than I expected! Everything was displayed by color and I had a blast. It was hard not to get out of control with buying and I only got a few things, but boy I am excited about them! Check out this set I found! MacBeth Evans Monax Bordette set of dinner plates, bread plates and saucers in pink blue green and yellow!

Aren't they gorgeous? All the colors are so vibrant and all the plates are in such good condition! If only I had the cups to complete the set! I would never have found these around here, I do have the platter to this set in my etsy shop and that was such a find! I'll have this set up on etsy soon, so keep your eyes open for it!

I also found some plates of one of my all time favorite patterns. The pastel stripe petalware also by MacBeth Evans. Another rare style to find, and I got three plates in the past two days! Excited! They'll also be on my etsy shop soon.

I'll have to post soon to show teh new additions to my corner cabinet and of some other things... for example, today I found the last New Dot Pyrex bowl to finish my set, the big one with green dots! For only $18, I mean what a find!

Vintage Dispaly pt.1

Hi everyone!

I've slowly been working on my corner cabinet's display. The problem is, vintage things aren't the only thing I passionately enjoy. I collect lots of vinyl toys and plushies and books and dvds! I had a lot of my plushies in the cabinet but had to move them temporarily to the top of the cabinet as my new little kitten had decided it likes to sleep on the first open shelf of it!

I thought I wasn't going to buy much more in the way of vintage glass pieces, and only buy pieces I loved in order to sell them on etsy... But, alas, I have acquired a few lovely pieces that have really made the top two shelves look lovely! The accumlation of these pieces was slow though, which is the nice way to make a collection I think!

I got some great deals! Also, my mother can't help herself, she's the one who bought most of it, without my knowing, for me. I have some black glass pieces, which I have more of around the apartment and were bought for my wedding. I keep an eye out for more because it's the one thing I would LOVE to have a great collection of (mostly because I think it's something my husband actually likes!). I have some delphite pieces and some jadite pieces as well in this cabinet! The colors all look so nice together! Especially with the little bit of white from the whiskey and juice canisters. I'm really liking how it is turning out =]

Little Hostess Set by Hazel Atlas

One of my favorite sets that I have been lucky to be in the possession of! The wonderful thing about this set, is that not only is it a full set, but it's in great condition!

This is called a Little Hostess set, made by Hazel Atlas in the 50s or 60s. It was made for little kids to use, which is why finding a complete set is difficult, as kids generally broke a lot. This is in such good condition I would almost say it's never been used. But, I won't say that because it's not in a sealed box. Either way, it's a beautiful set. Fired on pastel paint onto milk glass, which you can see on the bottom of the plates and cups. 

I really do love this set! It's for sale on my etsy site though.

Friday Finds

I can't believe it's already another Friday! Which means of course, it's time for Friday Finds! I do love going out and finding great deals, but this week I didn't sell a single thing. I know having gotten off to a good start of 9 sales in my first two weeks would lead to disappoint in the end. Even though I KNEW it wouldn't continue to go that way, and things could and would slow down, I still feel a bit like it's all over. Ridiculous, right? Such is the way of me.

Anyway, I'm staying optimistic, as I have been having a really nice time with it all. So without further ado, here are my Friday Finds!

Gorgeous jadite green coffee carafe and coffee and sugar canisters. They are made of enamel, painted a lovely pastel shade of green and cream. They are in amazing condition and look great with ALL MY STUFF, that I own and am selling. I had to show it with the light aqua blue creamer and sugar milk glass. So pretty. This will be for sale on my etsy site, probably tomorrow. As you can see the pictures are all ready!

 
This is a Hazel Atlas Odine rust orange sugar cup. It is firepainted milk glass. The color is so vibrant, it looks brand new. There is the HA marking on the bottom for Hazel Atlas. The bottom is white showing the milk glass. I think this would look great with an autumn set up. I might have to update the pictures on etsy for this though, it's more rust in color, it looks too muted in the pictures. I don't know...

As I think you all must know by now, I am a BIG fan of Hazel Atlas' Moderntone Platonite. I was really excited to find this soup/cream bowl. It's the same heather blue as the, cups & saucers, and the blue sherbert cup that I have for sale on etsy.

I looked it up and it seems to be that that IS the way to spell sherbert... Am I missing something? Whenever I type it, no matter where, it's underlined in that special little squiggle red to say "NO, YOU ARE WRONG."

Anyway, lovely blue double handled bowl, with the ripple step design. It's fire painted onto milk glass, and in pretty good vintage condition. One handle does have what looks like a chip but is actually manufacturing. It's kind of annoying, but barely noticeable.

This will also be on etsy soon! But, in the meantime check out the other awesome things I have in my etsy shop. I try to update it every day.

MacBeth Evans Pastel Strip Petalware

These are my favorite plates.

They are a creamy milk glass with pale pink green and blue stripes around the edge. They're a great size for lunch or dessert, and would look adorable with other depression glass era, or other spring/Easter decor.

Look how nice they fit in with other pastel colored things. I debated whether or not to keep them ever since I bought them. I bought them knowing I would sell them, but I love them so much. Compromise? I am keeping the two with little chips in them, and selling the ones in great condition.

And, don't they look great on the cake plate I just sold?

I have this last picture to demonstrate the opaqueness of the plate. The petal part of the plates is thinner and more delicate milk glass, so the light shines through there more, and it gives off a lovely sheet. These plates are so delicate and girly, I love them.

Vintage Green Lamp Shade

My Mom has an endless amount of stuff. I am not kidding when I say I go shopping in her room, she has an office for her craft and office supplies, and she has a room where she keeps all of her mosaic matieral, supplies and where she works on mosaics.

What I'm trying to say is, it is great! I love to shop at my Mother's! I always find great craft supplies and vintage things! She has been collecting this stuff for years, my whole life, and now I love it all! She is going to get all of her pottery, china etc together this spring and do a big tag sale. I'm helping but first I am going to pick what I want.

I found this vintage frosted green lamp shade in one of her many piles. It has a few tiny chips but other than that it is in great condition! These are worth a lot these days and I though I would try selling it!

I think it would be great as a bird feeder/bath for the spring/summer. It is such a refreshing color. Doesn't it look so delicate and bright in front of the window? It really pops.

Vintage Zombie/Tumbler Glasses

I found these glasses a couple of days ago and fell in love with them immediately. The colors are creamy, soft, and frosted.

I did my best to research these tumblers, but couldn't come up with much. They are probably hand painted, from the 1950s, when this style was recognized. The image depicts a girl in a crinoline skit with an arch, bird bath and birds flying. These glasses are in great condition too, good to use for parties, and also perfect for display. I love how they would go well with all sorts of themes, Easter, spring, pale colors, girly rooms etc.
