Pink Jeannette Milk Glass

One of my favorite things to hunt for! Jeannette pink milk glass, ok any pink milk glass that's pretty really.

Found this eclectic antique store, just sort of happened upon it. It had a LOT of stuff, of all sorts. They had all my kind of creamy vintage, it was great! Except, the atmosphere was weird. Three guys ran the shop, and the main guy was helping a cop pick out a hunting bow! Interesting, but the other guy followed me around, and I did not appreciate it. I felt bad because he hobbled after me all over this big store, and nothing is priced. So whenever I picked something up he would take it and ask the other guy how much it cost.

I really didn't like having to ask the price of EVERY single item I was interested in! And, having a hobbling guy following me around. Anyway, I got this lovely piece there =]

 

Tomorrow, I will start posting other things. Such as my life and the things I have. Not just what I sell, but my actual vintage things, as well as my Mother's. I want to make this a more personable blog, not just a LOOK WHAT I'M SELLING. kind of thing. I hope it will be enjoyable!

Friday Finds

Oh what another wonderful Friday with wonderful finds. Too bad the weather is horrible, we had a snow storm a couple of days ago, it's cold out and everything is covered in ice.

Anyway, I found some AMAZING things that I am SO excited about! I just posted my favorite thing that I found today, and it is also one of my favorite things I've found yet! Oh it's so beautiful, I have to show you a picture now!

I went with my Mother, as I do, to one of our favorite stores, the dense glass store that gives me a slight panic attack if I'm in there for over ten minutes... My Mother, being the way she is, sort of knocked down a tower of cups and saucers. Sturdy little things didn't break! My heart hurt after though...

This place, I could go back tomorrow and find more amazing things, there is so much to look at. I got a lot of great stuff and I'm so excited to list it all! As you see above, I got a gorgeous large light blue milk glass creamer and sugar. I believe it is made by Westmoreland. It is a rare piece, I have seen a smaller set before, but I can't even find this one online. It is in amazing condition, with no chips or cracks. It is the prettiest pastel blue, such a vibrant creamy shade. It goes lovely with fostria and jeannette pink, as well as other milk glass pieces.

 

I also got quite a bit of MacBeth Evans petalware! Not quite as nice as the pastel striped ones I sold before, but still very elegant and nice. I'm a big fan of petalware, and MacBeth Evans, such lovely stuff! I bought two sets of a Cup, Saucer and Salad/Lunch Plate. They have gold edges, most of which are in good condition, but one of the lunch plates as a spot that is quite worn away.

I also found American Sweetheart pieces, I only got some saucers, one of which is chipped so I'm going back to exchange it sometime. And I got the lovely Hazel Atlas pink ruffle dinner plates. I will have to post pictures and continue my 'Friday Finds' tomorrow though.

Busy...

It's been pretty busy this morning. I met a great person on etsy last night, we had quite a few messages back and forth. She's from my area and we have a lot in common, it was so nice meeting someone like that. She bought one of my items, she offered to do a trade which was lovely but, I just can't bring more into the house! But, I am going to deliver the candlesticks to her in person, hope that makes up for it!

Then last night my pastel striped plates sold, my favorites! I got a message this morning from someone saying they regretted not buying them when they had the chance. I'm offering to sell her the two I have left that are chipped at a reduced rate, she seems really excited. I love being able to help and make someone happy! I'll be posting them reserved to her tomorrow.

I found a beautiful blue and white swirl milk glass fenton lid in my mom's many bins of glass. I then found someone on etsy who has the bottom part to it! I offered to sell them the lid so they can sell the whole set! So, I have that and the plates to ship today. I'll probably be shipping the other two plates tomorrow after I list them, and I'll be delivering the candlesticks on Friday. I feel like I'm all over the place!

Plus, I became part of this amazing Vintage Etsy team. They're so supportive and active, I'm in love! They make beautiful treasuries all the time, and they seem really genuine in helping each other out. I'm really excited to be a part of it.

I've posted some new things on etsy as well. And I'm going to continue to list new things today and tomorrow, I'm trying to list at least one thing a day, but today and tomorrow I'll be doing multiple things. Also, this weekend I'll be going shopping for some new things to sell! How exciting! I'm loving all of this.

Hor Derves - Cocktail Forks

I found these lovely vintage celluloid cocktail forks. The forks are all in great shape, and the container only has two small cracks that don't detract from the function or the look.

Pink Milk Glass Candy Dish

I just love the pink milk glass of jeannette. It's so pale and delicate, the soft creamy pink can go with so many different things. With Easter coming up, I just squeal with the potential of everything I see in pastels.

I got this wonderful dish from the same place as the cake stand I sold last week. It has a tiny form of hobnail all over the surface, except for the flattened smooth corners. It originally came with a lid, but I'm sure that is long since broken. It also has a nice and simple leaf and acorn design on it, which I find to not be slapping me in the face, but rather adding a nice overall look to the dish.

Friday Finds

I went to a couple of antique and consignment shops with my Mom today. We went in towns we aren't ever in to see what they had to offer. Though they had some antique shops, they weren't very good. I had to look hard to find one good thing from two different places. But, I am very happy with what I did find, so maybe it was all worth it. Both of these items are now up for grabs on my etsy shop! How exciting.

First up is a vintage pink sewing box!

It comes with a tray that fits on the inside at the top. It's all in really good condition and is a great pale pink color. You can use it to store all sorts of things, and it has two rope handles.

Next, I found this gorgoues tin! It has wonderful pale colors, teal, pink, and a light gold. It's a great size and in good condition. The lid comes off and on easily, and I just love the polka dots on the tin. I have a hard time giving this one up, but I'm still selling it here.

MacBeth Evans Pastel Strip Petalware

These are my favorite plates.

They are a creamy milk glass with pale pink green and blue stripes around the edge. They're a great size for lunch or dessert, and would look adorable with other depression glass era, or other spring/Easter decor.

Look how nice they fit in with other pastel colored things. I debated whether or not to keep them ever since I bought them. I bought them knowing I would sell them, but I love them so much. Compromise? I am keeping the two with little chips in them, and selling the ones in great condition.

And, don't they look great on the cake plate I just sold?

I have this last picture to demonstrate the opaqueness of the plate. The petal part of the plates is thinner and more delicate milk glass, so the light shines through there more, and it gives off a lovely sheet. These plates are so delicate and girly, I love them.

Pink Milk Glass Cake Stand

Oh my Mom and I found a gorgeous cake stand the other day. We couldn't go two days without going back to buy it. It's such a soft creamy pale pink, and the top of the stand is so intricate! Not to mention the lovely bubble footed bottom.

I couldn't help but put my lovely MacBeth Evans pastel striped plates on the top to see how it looked. Oh I would love to have a dinner party and have the plates in the middle of the table on the cake stand.

Even though I love it (as I love everything I buy), I am selling this pink cake stand on my CreamyVintageEtsy shop, as I just don't have any room for it. Click the shop name to check it out.

Vintage Zombie/Tumbler Glasses

I found these glasses a couple of days ago and fell in love with them immediately. The colors are creamy, soft, and frosted.

I did my best to research these tumblers, but couldn't come up with much. They are probably hand painted, from the 1950s, when this style was recognized. The image depicts a girl in a crinoline skit with an arch, bird bath and birds flying. These glasses are in great condition too, good to use for parties, and also perfect for display. I love how they would go well with all sorts of themes, Easter, spring, pale colors, girly rooms etc.

Another Blog

Hi everyone!

I have a few blogs, I must admit, but they all have their own wonderful purpose! This one, as the name implies, is for my wonderful adventure in vintage things.

I am mostly into kitchenware currently: plates, all kinds of cups (tumblers, mugs, teacups) bowls, pitchers and all that kind of stuff. I am really into the creamy milk glass pieces. That is why I am called Creamy Vintage, I love the look of pyrex, anchor hocking (fireking), hazel atlas, and macbeth evans. I am in the learning stages of all these wonderful companies and the pieces they made, I hope you enjoy following me through my adventure of finding, learning, and selling creamy vintage.
